Jurassic Trek: The Anne Tribute

After the success and acclaim of Jurassic Time, many fans wanted yet another experience in the same engaging style. However, Hammond’s story was done. I had cobbled together every single line of dialogue he had in the game. What story was there left to tell? Well, there was one other character in the game that had a story: Anne, the woman marooned on Site B, left to fight for her life across an island full of dinosaurs.

Titled Jurassic Trek- The Anne Adventure, it was to be an old-time radio-style audio adventure using sound effects, music, and dialogue from the game. With no visuals at all, the listener was either reminded of the best moments from the game or taken through them for the first time in a way no one had ever experienced. It was also a way to present most of the wonderful dialogue of Anne, performed magnificently by Minnie Driver, in a way similar to what I had done for John Hammond in Jurassic Time. Some of the moments from the Hammond memoir would be seeded throughout to complete the story. In the end, it was to become a atmospheric yet fast-paced adventure to assault the ears.

But it was not to be.

Due to a loss of interest in the project and diminished energy, I decided not to continue. I had done some tests of what I was trying to accomplish and I simply was not satisfied with the results. It became unsatisfying and ultimately frustrating, and every time I would stop and start again, it didn’t get any better. With that I realized this project simply wasn’t for me.

However, in light of still wanting to have some kind of keepsake of Minnie Driver's performance, I have decided to make a brief, 12 minute vignette of it. It doesn't use any sound effects, just dialogue sometimes set to music like Jurassic Time. I call it Jurassic Trek- The Anne Tribute.
