Trespasser 2: let’s keep the baby going

What would an update be without Sk8ers weekly chapter of: Trespasser 2? Probably not much, so do not hesistate and read through the new chapter today. You will not be dissatisfied.

The Four Towers: Mission accomplished

Awsome news: TptDac finnished the work on his level : The Four Towers. And he really did accomplish an impressive piece of work. Again he was capable to overwhelme us with completely new buildings, plants and more. Again, I highly recommend this download, Or can you resist these images?

TresLinux: Installation Guide online

Here’s some good news for all of you, who ever wanted to run Trespasser under Linux. As we informed you earlier, Dapper Dan got Trespasser successfully running under Linux. But he didn’t stop there. Throughout the last week, he wrote a really great tutorial, so you can get your copy of Trespasser running as well and posted it up on our forum. So have a look here if you ever felt like playing Tres on a Linux system:

Sk8er provided us with the first chapter from his story: Trespasser 2. Many of you may remember his first story: TresCom: New Beginnings. Or may have read his Trailer. Well, for all of you who can not wait any longer: it’s all listed on our articles page. Enjoy 🙂

TpTDac’s new level

Wow, ir really looks as if our small little contest got the community going. Another old community member: TpTDac, which you may remember from his great level: ‘The PineValley Run’. (of course it’s still available in our download section), is currently working on a great new one: “The Four Towers”. Well I think that the screenshots speak for themselves:

GTA: Isla Nublar Edition

This is something, which may not be all that Tres related. But Dinosaur_Neill has been working on a site devoted to a GTA mod called: GTA: Isla Nublar Edition. Now you may ask why we’re reporting about this, eh? Well, the answer is easy. He might actually start wroking on one and if he does,he’ll use some of the original Tres models in game… Ever wondered how GTA:Trespasser would look like? Then take a look at the official page

Mickey’s got a new level as well

Mickey also started working on his very own level: The Dead Valley. I think that the first screenshots are looking very promising. So take a look yourself :

Trespasser Menu Patch released!

Well, we’ve started taking a closer look at the ddf files. So the outcome is a very neat new menu button : the quickload button. Which works just like the level-loading cheat 🙂 Take a look at that neat new layout here:

And then get the self-installer here. The installer will then replace the original mainscreen.ddf file and replace it with our new one. For all of you interested in creating a nice new theme for trespasser, read the Menu Editing tutorial up in our FAQ section.

Old forum is back online

We have noticed, that our old forum (which is accessible from the menu) must have been inaccessible for a while now. We fixed that and got it all back up and running. So we hope that you’ll enjoy reading all of the Old Forum topics.

Previously unseen pre-release images!

Machf found these great images of the mysterious program named GUInterface used by development team of Trespasser:

And this is the text that accompanied the the pictures:

07/08/97

3:00p

In response to recent questions raised on the message board, Brady Bell sends along these two images, which undoubtedly prove the exact polygon count of the t-rex in question (354, to be exact).

So, how the heck are they doing it? Something that never occured to me….bump mapping. Take a look at the second image which shows the model without the skin or bump mapping on.

Anyway, here they are….be warned, these are rather large.

This was found on an web-archive of the old Trespasser site at Planet Quake. It is Amazing that its still possible to find this ancient stuff these days. Thanks again Machf. Keep searching people! 🙂

New TC-Isle images

Here are three new images as usual:

New TresEd release & new T-script utility

Andres has released yet another improved version of TresEd. It’s advanced but extremely easy to use terrain editing will make life even easier. Screenshot:

And if that weren’t enough he has also coded a neat user-friendly T-script editor.

That all can be download here.

What would this community be without you Andres?! Great work! 🙂

The Old TresOps forum (http://pub19.ezboard.com/ftrespasserextrasfrm15), is now accesible for the public. So if you ever wanted to know what is being discussed on there, take a look…

Contest: Registration needed?

Uh, we’ve noticed a small error on other Jurassic Park sites, where it is said, that you would need to be registered at our forum for submission. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Everybody is allowed and more than welcome to submit his Trespasser(!) related fan work.Registration is only needed, if you also want to vote for the finals… anyhow: Thx goes to our affiliates at JurassicIsland for reporting about us… (hope you don’t mind me correcting this)

FAQ Database: Grand opening!

The long awaited FAQ Database finally opens its gates to the public! From now on, we’ll try to update this section whenever possible or needed. So if you know of any helpful tricks, which have not been covered yet, or if you are willing to write a tutorial, then please drop us a line (paul@trescom.org, remdul@trescom.org).

Screen of the week

Again I am sorry to say, that we are again missing screenshots. So if you ever feel like sharing your greatest moments of trespasser with the rest of the community, please send them in: paul@trescom.org. Thanks!

Where is the input?

Yet another Database has opened. This time it is our ‘TrespasserSite Database’, which contains several sites, which can not be found online anymore. (inclduing the infamous ‘Trespasser Teamsite’). Thanks goes to ‘machf’, for sending us several pages and to the WebArchive (http://web.archive.org) for backing them up. Hope you’re all gonna enjoy these missing pages here. (all are also added to our links section). We’ll of course try to recover all of the missing images in the near future, but we could also use some help here. So if you happen to find any of the missing images or maybe some newer articles, please send them to paul@trescom.org.

More Interviews Online

We’ve added two of the interviews from the lost websites to our interviews section. (in case you don’t feel like crwaling through all the websites…) Both were held by 3dGamingNet and highly interesting. View the Interview with Brady Bell here and the chat with the Trespasser Team here.

Several Site Updates

Well, for this update, we’ve updated our history and our interviews page (we know that we’ve been neglecting this site feature thoughout the last few months… sorry). Hope you’re gonna enjoy this.

TresLinux

Looks like Trespasser is getting a little famous on linux systems. ‘Dapper Dan’ informed us, that a new Trespasser review is online. You can find it here.

News from Bill Brown

Bill Bown (the composer of the original Trespasser soundtrack) informed us , that he has updated his website and made a few more tracks available for download, including new tracks to Command and Conquer Generals, Rainbow Six 3 and a track called ‘Adventure Fanfare’. So go ahead and check out his website here.

Oh my god, here comes the incredible HULK!

Green seems to be the in-color of the summer (mainly because of the remake of ‘The Incredible Hulk’). Maybe that is what inspired Asjad to work on a nice new skin for the Trespasser T-Rex. I was quite amazed to see this coming (afterall this is the first Skin created for a Trespasser dinosaur)so check it out on our skinpacks page.

OOPS!

We messed up on last weeks update: By accident we deleted one of the download links to one of the T-Script generators… the link is fixed and waiting for your download here. Sorry.
