Jurassic Time Gets Upgraded To A Version 2.0!

Well all know of the recent discovery as of late that forum members have pointed out. But new sights aren’t all that were found… new sounds as well. Some of the sounds are in the form of new lines of John Hammond dialogue, that are now for the first time integrated into the popular audio memoir: Jurassic Time. But not only that, every track in the memoir has been updated to have better sound quality and other fixes and edits. All around, it’s better than ever. And it’s available now.

Click here to see a new version of the great story by checking out Version 2.0, and discuss.

Also, be on the lookout in April for a very cool and different secret project to be revealed…

Trespasser – mae ai getz a hua?!

Ahh christmas. Time of the year… love, joy, presents… it’s all good. But, as you may have noticed, NO CHRISTMAS SPECIAL ON TRESCOM! This is madness, I tell you, and I know it too. But don’t give your hopes up just yet.

Alot has happened throughout the last few weeks and months – some events were rather chaotic, but all in all we got alot to be cheerful for. Word has it, that we finally had a breakthrough on our own tools and also that the original Pine Valley level may have been leaked.

Though we at TresCom couldn’t get our hands on it yet, this should at least get our hopes up for some great new additions in the future.

Update your links!

We also laid our hands on the forum again. Turns out, that alot of our problems could be tracked back to some really funky domain/cookie chaos. So now we got it all running under a new domain – the old link may still function (they both share the same server), however I need to stress that under no circumstances should you use the old links anymore. A simple update to www.trescomforum.org should fix all your problems, however 🙂

Tresgame is back from its grave!

Woah, I know I wrote about this website alot in the past. And though it was dead for a long while now, I am really glad that its back and better than ever. Our old forum pal Mickey took his time to carefully setup a new Tresgame forum and word has it, that there is already a heated debate about the recent events that rocked our tiny little Trespasser-world (*cough* check the above *cough*).

I personally wish Mickey all the best – its good to have a new trespasser site in the making. So go over to Tresgame and join their discussion.

Seven year anniversary of the TresCom server switch of 2002!

Hard to believe it’s really been 7 years since the Diehard Forums became the TresCom forums. Seems like it was only 6 😛

Here’s to seven more!

Hacked

A hacker got my account this morning and my webhost. He left an image and a clue in the Jurassic Park Oblivion Public Forum. This image is supposed to be important but how can it be? Try to solve the mystery here! I have regained control of my account since then, but I bet he will be persistent until we figure out what he wants.

It’s good to have access to the Control Panel again!

Some functions of the site are still being worked on. Registration will be back sometime soon, after our dedicated team (IE: Remdul and MP) gets all the kinks out. We are currently unable to change forum options or manually register accounts at this time due to maintenance. Once the system is back up and running, we’ll let you know!

As for the Screen of the Week, keep sending them! I don’t have access to the FTP so I can’t host them locally yet but I can use my ImageShack account to host them until everything’s fixed up.

This week’s SOTW comes from glitchhunter09

A small heads-up to the lurkers on our forum:

As part of the move, we’ve decided to clean up the forum user accounts, in particular; the deletion of inactive accounts, spambot accounts and accounts with which no posts were made.

If your account has been deleted, feel free to register again!

Migration complete!

Well, at least somewhat. We now welcome you back to www.trescom.org, which is in some way living the single life of a website once again! Of course this is only a metaphore (…and a horrible one at best – c’mon, websites? living? single? how rediculous…), but you can already see how things have improved now that we are on our own server again. Yes, it may only be me, but it seems as if our page has gained some speed, don’t you agree?

But anyhow, Remdul and I are still fixing things up and improving the old website as we move along. As a start, perhaps you’d be interested in visiting our hosted sites (this is only a sample of the ones we got):

* Trespassersecrets

* Rebel

* THS

* THS2

* TresDir

* TresCity

Or perhaps I can interest you in going through our slightly-improved menu bar to your left?!

Of course, this is only the beginning of a long list of updates, but you can say it with the rest of us: WE ARE HERE TO STAY!

Hosting is BACK!

With the new server comes new freedom: we are proud to reannounce our long-lost hosting plan. So write to us if you are interested in the deal: we can provide you with:

* free Webspace

* MYSQL Databases

* PHP/CGI Support

…and more. Just remember: all applicants must agree to our rules described on our Us helping you! page. 🙂

All day I dream about a… fast serv-errr?!

Ah, finally a note from myself. As you may have noticed, we locked the forum and are now in and on about to migrate to a new serverpark. I hope you understand that it may take Remdul and I a while to go through our checklists and make a 100% sure that everything is backed up and in place. As of time writing, we run through each and every page, fix broken links and check for missing images – a time consuming task, so I most certainly hope that you will bear with us and remain patient.

We are more than positive to complete the process just in time before the IGN hosting ends. So within that timeframe (24-48hrs), we will most likely begin to redirect each and every one to the new system and also reset the domains as we go.

Lastly, I would still like to leave a thank-you note to the entire IGN/Gamespy staff. Their kind offering has helped us through some rough years and opened the community to a much broader audience. Without the great hosting support, much of what we are now would not have come to existence – thank you!

Cheers,

Paul “madppiper”
