Featured: Merry X-mas everyone

Monday, 3rd February 2003

We used the weekend time to do a first few changes on our website. We re-organized the menu system, changed several settings to speed the site up a little and wrote a little disclaimer. This disclaimer is very important and also affects our hosted sites. So please make sure, that you read through it.

Besides this, we’d also like to thank the guys from Jurassicisland, Dan’s JP/// Page and of course JPDB for their great support so far and for reporting about us in their news.

TresCom Ops releases Level

The entire team has been working very very hard to make this happen and today certainly means alot to us. Our new level is done and is waiting for ya to download. So head over to the “Creations” Section and download the file this instant. We certainly hope to get alot of feedback from you people. Even though we will not change anything on this level in the future anymore, the feedback is needed for our future levels. So if you enjoy our work, then please show us 🙂 (either by joining out community http://diehard.ath.cx/board or by writing us an email)… Your support is needed.

So much for this. Not much to say, except that the last few months have been the most exiting in my life. This project was huge and yet we were capable of finnishing it. Not even a single year ago anybody would have expected that….

A huge thanks goes to JPDatabase.net for hosting our files again! You are awsome guys!

We, the TresCom Ops, have been working overtime on the final beta of our level. Even though we couldn’t find a perfect release date yet, it is quite obvious, that it will be released in the following days. The new version does not onyl fix several bugfixes, but also features an edited terrain, new puzzles, highly improved areas and an entire ingame-video clip!

Just to spoil you a little, we want to share some nice screenshots with you :

We also got some good news for clients, who are hosted on our server. We just recently installed a web-interface for you, which allows you to handle your accounts more easily. You can check it out over here:

We just received an email from Scallenger, who has announced his first fan-level:

“My (Scallenger’s) new level is titled “BioSyn’s Hideout”. To create it, I

have used the blank demo level and have imported some models from the

regular game and TresCom’s level. BioSyn’s Hideout will be the first level

to feature NEW voice-overs and NEW music, using the tpaadd tool, which are

imported into a empty stream.tpa, thanks to Rebel. Also, unlike other

levels, you are no longer playing “Anne”, but a BioSyn employee named “Jan”.

Oddly enough, they both look identical, even after freak accidents. ;)”

The first update in the new year 🙂 To start this new year, Rebel and Andres have developed two nice lil tools to start a new level for ya. One of which is an empty Stream.tpa file and the other is an instructions for building your own level file from scratch. Both of these tools will certainly help all us to smaller the level files and will also allow you people to develope stand-alone levels…

We certainly hope, that this will help new members to start working on their own levels. You can find the tools in our utilities section.

Marc McKinnon, another Trespasser fan, also wanted to start this new year with a nice image for all of you. As always, you may find it from now on in our Fan Art section.

Hey! The TresCom team certainly wishes you a happy new year! Again many people have contributed some nice work of theirs, to make this a nice NEW YEAR SPECIAL!

First of all, another beta-level has made its way to us. It is called PVRun and is the first attempt of recreating the lost Pine Valley Level. TptDac used nothing else than the existing models and textures of the demo level and created some impressing new buildings. Nice scripted events, such as exploding bridges, are included as well. So grab these files in our Levels section today. Just to spoil you, we have here some really nice in-game screenshots for ya:

Besides this, we also got some really nice Wallpapers, created by Cody Zaiser. Well just look for yourself, higher resolution versions can be found in our FanArt section:

he also send in a nice image of a T-rex walking through the Canadian Forrests:

Well I guess that was pretty much our New Year Special, certainly hope you like it! Hope to see you back in the new year. 🙂

Ho Ho Ho! A Merry Merry X-mas to all of you. Many people have contributed some work of theirs to make this a X-mas special for you. Rebel has send in a Trespasser X-mas poem of his and a very enjoyable Trespasser meets StarTrek story. You can find both in our Articles Section.

Tomi has been so kind to send in the first beta version of his Jungle Level! I played through it and I must say, that this is a very well designed level. It has some amazing moments and all of you should play it! Well I think that the following images speak for themselves:

This level is now waiting for you in our Levels Download section.

But this certainly isn’t enough for our X-mas special. We also have a nice lil frame for you from the end-movie of the final TresCom level version:

The level is approaching and will be awailable for download soon!

Well and besides this all, we are also proud to go on air with our first internet radio station! It features all the ingame Trespasser music by Bill Brown (www.billbrownmusic.com). The music itself is still under copyright by Bill Brown, so do not copy any of it illegally and rather buy one of his cds :). To access the radio station, you need an mp3 player and have to add the following location to the list : http://diehard.ath.cx:5000

If you are forced to download a 52 Megabyte big file, then you know that you have been doing something wrong.

Well I certainly hope you will enjoy listening to this radio station. I certainly do…

Just a minor update for today. We fixed some parts at the walkthrough (eg, the keypad number) and also got these nice two Trespasser Wallpapers by Cody Zaiser :

They are also available in higher resolutions in our Fanart section.

We do have something very special for all of you guys today: The Walkthrough of the TresCom beta level! Rexy40, a member of the TresCom Ops and co-webmaster of TresCity, has been working on it for several weeks now. So all of you, who needed help with the level: This is your chance to play through. We do however want to make clear, that using this walkthrough may result in less gameplay and fun.

Besides this, Andres James has also been working overtime on a new Testrelease of TresEd and two new tools, called “TPAADD” and “SWPz”. TresEd is now capale of playing sounds of the of the tpa (the trespasser sound files), “TPAADD” is the long awaited tool of adding new sounds/music files to Trespasser and “SWPz” allows the user to uncompress the SPZ texture files. All of these releases are still experimental though, so be very careful with them. To download the files, visit Andres’ page here.

A tutorial to “TPAADD” has been posted at our forum here (you need to be a registered member for viewing the post)! So you may want to check it out if you are going to use the tool.
