Trespasser Menu Patch released!

Well, we’ve started taking a closer look at the ddf files. So the outcome is a very neat new menu button : the quickload button. Which works just like the level-loading cheat 🙂 Take a look at that neat new layout here:

And then get the self-installer here. The installer will then replace the original mainscreen.ddf file and replace it with our new one. For all of you interested in creating a nice new theme for trespasser, read the Menu Editing tutorial up in our FAQ section.

Bill Brown releases new music files!

Old forum is back online

We have noticed, that our old forum (which is accessible from the menu) must have been inaccessible for a while now. We fixed that and got it all back up and running. So we hope that you’ll enjoy reading all of the Old Forum topics.

Previously unseen pre-release images!

Machf found these great images of the mysterious program named GUInterface used by development team of Trespasser:

And this is the text that accompanied the the pictures:

07/08/97

3:00p

In response to recent questions raised on the message board, Brady Bell sends along these two images, which undoubtedly prove the exact polygon count of the t-rex in question (354, to be exact).

So, how the heck are they doing it? Something that never occured to me….bump mapping. Take a look at the second image which shows the model without the skin or bump mapping on.

Anyway, here they are….be warned, these are rather large.

This was found on an web-archive of the old Trespasser site at Planet Quake. It is Amazing that its still possible to find this ancient stuff these days. Thanks again Machf. Keep searching people! 🙂

New TC-Isle images

Here are three new images as usual:

New TresEd release & new T-script utility

Andres has released yet another improved version of TresEd. It’s advanced but extremely easy to use terrain editing will make life even easier. Screenshot:

And if that weren’t enough he has also coded a neat user-friendly T-script editor.

That all can be download here.

What would this community be without you Andres?! Great work! 🙂

The Old TresOps forum (http://pub19.ezboard.com/ftrespasserextrasfrm15), is now accesible for the public. So if you ever wanted to know what is being discussed on there, take a look…

Contest: Registration needed?

Uh, we’ve noticed a small error on other Jurassic Park sites, where it is said, that you would need to be registered at our forum for submission. THIS IS NOT TRUE. Everybody is allowed and more than welcome to submit his Trespasser(!) related fan work.Registration is only needed, if you also want to vote for the finals… anyhow: Thx goes to our affiliates at JurassicIsland for reporting about us… (hope you don’t mind me correcting this)

FAQ Database: Grand opening!

The long awaited FAQ Database finally opens its gates to the public! From now on, we’ll try to update this section whenever possible or needed. So if you know of any helpful tricks, which have not been covered yet, or if you are willing to write a tutorial, then please drop us a line (paul@trescom.org, remdul@trescom.org).

Screen of the week

Again I am sorry to say, that we are again missing screenshots. So if you ever feel like sharing your greatest moments of trespasser with the rest of the community, please send them in: paul@trescom.org. Thanks!

Where is the input?

Yet another Database has opened. This time it is our ‘TrespasserSite Database’, which contains several sites, which can not be found online anymore. (inclduing the infamous ‘Trespasser Teamsite’). Thanks goes to ‘machf’, for sending us several pages and to the WebArchive (http://web.archive.org) for backing them up. Hope you’re all gonna enjoy these missing pages here. (all are also added to our links section). We’ll of course try to recover all of the missing images in the near future, but we could also use some help here. So if you happen to find any of the missing images or maybe some newer articles, please send them to paul@trescom.org.

More Interviews Online

We’ve added two of the interviews from the lost websites to our interviews section. (in case you don’t feel like crwaling through all the websites…) Both were held by 3dGamingNet and highly interesting. View the Interview with Brady Bell here and the chat with the Trespasser Team here.

Several Site Updates

Well, for this update, we’ve updated our history and our interviews page (we know that we’ve been neglecting this site feature thoughout the last few months… sorry). Hope you’re gonna enjoy this.

TresLinux

Looks like Trespasser is getting a little famous on linux systems. ‘Dapper Dan’ informed us, that a new Trespasser review is online. You can find it here.

News from Bill Brown

Bill Bown (the composer of the original Trespasser soundtrack) informed us , that he has updated his website and made a few more tracks available for download, including new tracks to Command and Conquer Generals, Rainbow Six 3 and a track called ‘Adventure Fanfare’. So go ahead and check out his website here.

Oh my god, here comes the incredible HULK!

Green seems to be the in-color of the summer (mainly because of the remake of ‘The Incredible Hulk’). Maybe that is what inspired Asjad to work on a nice new skin for the Trespasser T-Rex. I was quite amazed to see this coming (afterall this is the first Skin created for a Trespasser dinosaur)so check it out on our skinpacks page.

OOPS!

We messed up on last weeks update: By accident we deleted one of the download links to one of the T-Script generators… the link is fixed and waiting for your download here. Sorry.

New FAQ Database opening up soon!

We decided on opening up a FAQ Database on the board, which will provide you with useful informations on any of our tools. (eg tutorials, general informations on T-scripting, etc etc). However, we are still in the need for people willing to write some articles for us. So if you are having any inside-knowledge on our tools and are willing to help others, by writing a tutorial, or just a hint on how to do something, then please contact us (paul@trescom.org). (or write us a private message on our board (either to Remdul, or Madppiper)) It does not need to be the world’s best tutorial for now, since you will be capable of updating the tutorial whenever you feel like it. The FAQ section will be accessible for all people (including non-registered people), but nobody, except from the moderators, will get a chance of posting in there.Well, hope that some of you will be willing to help us out on this. Let’s get our modding-community rocking! The FAQ Database will open up soon, once the first few tutorials/howtos come in. Thanks!

Contest Pre-announcement II

We decided on publishing the official rules for our slowly approaching fan-contest :) . (a date has yet to be announced) So please make sure, you read through them carefuly. Coming along with that, we got a nice image from our TC-Isle, which will be used on the backs of our T-shirt (which is one of our prizes). Of course this image may change during our progress, but it should give you a slight idea on how the end-result may look like :)

Change it,baby! I

Asjad is currently working on an updated skin for the T-rex, which is supposed to be closer to the orginal movies. Once it’s finnished it will of course be available for download.

Change it,baby! II

Mickey has also been working on some new skins for Trespasser and sends us these nice images. He says, that they will be seen first in his upcoming ‘Tresgame’ level:

New tools

Andres released a new version of his swp compression tools, allowing you to smaller the level-file-size even more. So make sure you download the new tool here. Rebel also updated his T-script generator, making it even easier for you to generate T-scripts! You can download the file here.

New Trespasser reviews found on the net

An interesting Trespasser review has been found on the net, so read it here. Thanks goes to DapperDan on this one. Well and inspired by that, several community members searched the old databases and found even more reviews and interesting game pages, which you can find here. Throughout the next week, we’ll try to upload those missing and long forgotten sites to our game server, so be aware…

New Fan site found on the block !

Trespasser.tk is a spanish site, which must have been arround for quite some while, without having us noticing them. So for now, we’ve added them to our links section and would like all of you to take a look at the site today. Quite a nice fan site if you ask me… just hope that they’re gonna come up with an english site as well ;).

Blasco interviews Brady Bell

Blasco, the former webmaster of long lost Trespassernet.com, had the chance of interviewing Brady Bell for his site. We just recently recovered this long lost document and thus would like to share it with all of you. Read through it in our interview section here.

Contest pre-announcement

We decided to have a little community contest for our upcoming level :TC_Isle. Several prizes are waiting for the 3 winners:

# 1st place: will receive a copy of the Alpha Version of the upcoming level, get the official TC_Isle T-Shirt and will have his winning entry shown openly in our level.

# 2nd place: will also receive a copy of the Alpha Version of the level and will have his name added to a nice easteregg hidden in the level.

# 3rd place: will get a graffiti to his fame in our level.

And if that weren’t enough, will the winners of the first and second place have a chance of writing a review of that level, which will then be hosted on this site!To win one of these prizes, all you have got to do is to send in any Trespasser related fan-work of yours, may it be:

# a Drawing

# a Story or an article

# a model rendering

# a level

The community members (members of our forum) will then get a vote on the best fan work and will have a chance to vote for the best work. Easy system, eh?

However there will be certain rules for submitting a fan work:

# TresCom Ops members are excluded from the contest

# People are only allowed to turn in 1 (!) work of their own. (Meaning that stolen or multiple fan-work will not be accepted)

# And the entries will have to be turned in up to a dead line, which has yet to be announced

Well, so much for this. Hope you are gonna start thinking about some possible Winning entries…. the contest is gonna start soon!

TresLinux section up!

Well, we decided on giving DapperDan his very own section for discussing how to run Trespasser on Linux. So if you happen to be interested on running Trespasser on your linux station, then you are more then welcome to drop DapperDan a few lines here. You do not even have to be registered for posting in that very same section… 🙂

May the story never end

More chapters of Sk8ers TresCom story are online. What else can we say. Check them out here.

Trespasser is getting expensive!

Guess that Trespasser is really getting old now. Because nowadays prices show that Trespasser is really antique. So it’s no wonder that Amazon(Germany) sells Trespasser for the price of 43.99
